Last weekend, after all of the masses, the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus took place.Thisweekend, July 2 & 3, the Enthronement of the Immaculate Heart of Mary will take place as part of
the Diocesan-Parish Enthronement of the Sacred & Immaculate Hearts.
The Enthronement of the Sacred Heart is “the official and social recognition of the loving Kingship of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Christian family” as explained by Fr. Mateo Crowley-Boevey SS.CC
The Sacred Heart of Jesus is lovingly enthroned with the Immaculate Heart of Mary as our Queen.
The Enthronement is ratified by consecrating and enthroning an image of the Hearts of Jesus & Mary in a prominent location. The images can be in the form of a statue or picture. Through the enthronement and consecration, we formally recognize and acknowledge Jesus as our King and Mary as our Queen Mother in a Covenant of Love. Our Lord will honor this covenant by bestowing significant graces and blessings. When Jesus appeared to St. Margaret Mary about the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart, He made a solemn promise: “I will bless every dwelling in which an image of My Heart is both exposed and honored.”
