Saints Mary and Joseph Parish makes donations of fresh fruit every week throughout the school year to the Salem School District for the "End 68 Hours of Hunger" program. This program is a private, not-for-profit effort to confront the approximately 68 hours of hunger that some school children experience between the free lunch they receive in school on Friday and the free breakfast they receive in school on Monday. Pictured at right is parishioner David Harris, owner of Harris Fruit & Produce who delivers the fruit weekly, along with Deborah Payne and Jennie Marshall, Program Directors at the Salem School District. Thank you David for helping the parish do God’s work to feed hungry children.
Pictured below is a recent donation made by the parish, including a special Spring treat! Feeding hungry children in our parish community is one more way we do God’s work through your loving and generous donations.
