U.S. Catholic Bishops and Canadian Bishops to renew the consecration of our nations to the care of our Blessed Mother
This Friday, May 1, at 3:00 pm, along with his brother bishops in the U.S. and Canada, Bishop Libasci will conduct a brief liturgy and prayer of renewal of the consecration of the United States to the care of our Blessed Mother Mary. This liturgy will be livestreamed on the Cathedral’s website.
USCCB President Archbishop Jose H. Gomez has invited the bishops to join in from their respective dioceses and asked them to extend the invitation to the faithful in their dioceses for their participation. We encourage you to make this event known to your parishioners, and/or to lead a service in your own parishes.
To download the worship aid, which is available in both English and Spanish for distribution, please see the link below. The livestream of Archbishop Gomez’s liturgy will be available on both the USCCB’s website, as well as on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ website.
The month of May is approaching. A tradition in this month is to pray the Rosary as a sign of love and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. In a recent letter from his Holiness Pope Francis, he encourages everyone to share in the beauty of praying the Rosary at home throughout the month of May. Pope Francis also asks us to pray two additional prayers to Our Lady, to be recited at the end of the Rosary.
