Howdy, and welcome to Chilifest 2023!
HOW TO ENTER: All applicants should complete the online form below, and submit the $15.00 entry fee in advance thru this website only. Chilifest applications must be completed by 10-10-23 to qualify. This event is "Rain-or-Shine", and the entry fee is not refundable, so we are counting on your attendance. There will be a maximum of 24 Chilifest entry participants, so apply now!
We will not allow any walk-ins for this event. This is a fun competion, so please follow all directions to keep the event fair for all competitors.
This event is a ticketed event allowing guests to walk thru and enjoy a sampling of all chili. Guests will also enjoy a bowl of "house chili" from a local restaurant.
PRIZES: The 24 Chilifest entrants can be parishioners, local residents, and local restaurants. Prizes and bragging rights will be announced in our Winners Circle at the finale of the HARVESTFEST event. Voting shall be done by a "token-count". First, Second, and Third place prizes shall be awared. Prizes consist of gift cards, embroidered aprons, and a trophy. The local newspaper and other media sources will publish/announce the name of the winner.
ENTRY RULES:
*Entry Fee and Application must be submitted on time (Oct 10th).
* Chili must be brought HOT and ready and in place at 12:30 PM on Oct 15th (the day of the event). We do have power, but only to keep warm. Please bring your chili in a crockpot of at least the average 6-7 qt. size, and larger is great too! Please bring a short and name- labeled extension cord in case you need it.
* Chili of all varieties is welcome: chicken, beef, pork, vegetarian, beans, no beans etc.. This must be a chili, no stews or soups allowed.
* Do not bring a serving spoon or anything to serve with, as serving utensils will be provided at the event. Chili is served only in a 3-oz. provided cup. Only one chili chef will serve the chili. Please serve and stay for the entirety of the contest, even if you run out.
*Please bring an 8.5" x 11" "typed" and framed document standing vertically, including the name of the chili, the ingredients-only (recipe is secret!) and a picture of the chef. This must be included day-of, no exceptions.
