Cyber Security Best Practices First & foremost, neither the pastor, principal or any staff members will ever ask for money, donations, gift cards, etc. via email or text. IF you think it is a legimate request (and it probably is not) then CALL THE PERSON FIRST. SCREEN FOR COMMON EMAIL SCAMS: match the actual email address of the sender to the name of the person who is requesting something from you. That is the first clue. Read the email for unusual grammar or sentence structure. Common scams try to engage you in further email exchanges by asking quesons like “Are you in?” or “Can you talk now?” Once you have replied, they will try to convince you that they are who they say, and get you to perform some kind of transaction. DO NOT PARTICIPATE!!!
