Kay Barretto worked on many charitable ventures, but there was one in particular that had a special place in her heart. That project was "End 68 Hours of Hunger." Named for the 68 hours of hunger that some children experience between school lunch on Friday and school breakfast on Monday, the program addresses food insecurity by providing shelf-stable food to 88 children in 40 families in Salem. With God's graces, Kay expanded the program to include Birthday Cake Kits, Sneakers for back-to-school, Snowpants and Winter Boots, Winter Coats, Fresh Fruits, and Summertime Sunscreen, Bug-Spray and Toys.
