In the fall of 2016 the parishioners of our parish made donations of birthday gifts for the children who were helped during the 2016-17 school year through the Salem School District’s "End 68 Hours of Hunger" program. This program is a private, not-for-profit effort to confront the approximately 68 hours of hunger that some school children experience between the free lunch they receive in school on Friday and the free breakfast they receive in school on Monday. Pictured is parishioner Laura Andolino who spearheaded this effort, along with Debora Payne, Program Director at the Salem School District. Thank you Laura for helping the parish to do God’s work and making birthday’s a little brighter for these children!
