Divine Mercy Sunday (the Sunday following Easter) is a day that celebrates the merciful love of God shining through the whole Easter Triduum and the whole Easter mystery. It is a day of declaration of reparation for all sin, thus the Day of Atonement. Click to learn more.
Thank you to our many parishioners who donated Easter meals for the needy, and to all the volunteers who helped with this benevolent event. Special thanks to the many volunteers and the SHS Key Club student members who helped to take-in and distribute many of the generous Easter meal donations.
Bishop Peter Libasci is asking all parishes in the diocese to offer extended times for confessions on Monday (April 10th) of Holy Week. Receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation is a wonderful way to acknowledge before God the gift that His Son Jesus gave us in dying, that we might be forgiven our sins. Reconciliation times are: 11am-1pm at St. Joseph, and 5:00-7:00pm at Mary Queen of Peace. Click the picture for your guide to how to make a good confession.
Join us on Friday April 7th at 7:00 PM at our St. Joseph Church campus. Your heart and soul will be filled with profound and enlightening scripture readings and elegant and angelic musical interludes. This is a must-see and hear for the soul!
Please join us on Thursday, April 13 following the 7:30pm Mass of the Lord’s Supper, in the Family Room at St. Joseph Church. “It is an invitation to silent and prolonged adoration of the wondrous sacrament instituted by Jesus on this day.” The practice, which dates back to the Middle Ages, also offers Catholics an opportunity to reflect in their parishes on the institution of the Eucharist, as well as the events commemorated during the Paschal Triduum, which continues through Good Friday, Holy Saturday and ends on the evening of Easter Sunday.
FASTING is to be observed by all who are 18 years of age and older and who have not yet celebrated their 59th birthday. On a fast day, one full meal is allowed. Two other meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one’s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids, including milk and juices, are allowed.
To adopt a family, pick up an envelope this week-end at the church entrances. Return baskets by April 8 to the parish office. Contact Marie at 603-893-8661 ext. 108 for more information.
