Have you ever noticed how families & communities often come closer together when working through a “shared crisis”? We here at Saints Mary & Joseph Parish are currently working through a transition phase that could be considered a “shared crisis.” The Bishop has made clear his decision to keep both church campuses viable. Several projects and much-needed maintenance tasks have already been completed in the past year.
The feast of the Holy Family is traditionally celebrated on the first Sunday after Christmas .This year our parish is looking forward to celebrating this feast in a special way by consecrating our families to the Holy Family. It is our hope that this consecration may help strengthen our families and revitalize our parish. The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring this program. The consecration of our families will take place on Sunday, December 30th. Learn more here.
Christmas Flower Envelopes are available at the church entrances. You can make donations in memory of loved ones and a special mass will be offered for the repose of their souls!
This program offers families a wonderful opportunity to approach God through Our Lady and thereby transform their lives. Families who participate in the program are privileged to bring a blessed statue of Our Lady of Fatima into their homes for one or two weeks. We encourage families to make a “Family Consecration” and to live the consecration by the “Pledge of Our of Lady of Fatima”. The kit contains many more goodies to help live the message.
Advent is the season we begin to welcome catechumens and candidates into parish life. A catechumen is one who has not been Baptized, a candidate is one who has been baptized and is looking for full communion with the Catholic Church. In the past, our diocese has combined the Rites. Bishop Libasci has made a change this year, clearly defining the Celebration of the Rite of Election of Catechumens and those seeking the Full Communion of the Catholic Church.Click here to learn more.
