Friday night through Sunday, July 20-22!! This summer we will be offering a VBS entitled: "Babylon: Daniel's Courage in Captivity." Daniel was much more than the guy that survived a den of hungry lions! Families will join Daniel--torn from his home and forced into the king's service. They will explore exotic sights and smells at a Babylonian Bazaar! Kids and adults will find that they're not much different from Daniel and his friends, who kept their faith in a faithless culture. Registration deadline is July 4th. Please click on the image to the left to register online.
A discount is offered to those families who register before June 1st. The diocese is in the process of restoring the order of when the sacraments are received: Baptism, Confirmation then First Communion. Over the next 2 years we will be in transition… Next year youth in grades 3 and 7-12 will be confirmed in the Spring of 2019. Youth in grades 5 on up will be confirmed in the Spring of 2020, as will the new 3rd graders. Please click on the button to the left to register online.
St. Andrew was the first of the Apostles to hear Jesus’ call to follow him. We invite men in our diocese who are considering a vocation to the priesthood or who would simply like some help hearing the Lord’s call for their life to an evening of prayer, conversation, and dinner with the Vocations Team. These evenings will take place on Fridays from 6-8 pm at different locations around our state and for different age groups. Please RSVP to Becky Vinson at [email protected] or (603) 663-0153 if you would like to learn more and/or attend.
Fr. Tom writes: "Having commemorated the Passion and Death of Jesus during Holy Week, we celebrated on Easter Sunday Jesus' victory over death as manifested in the Resurrection. The liturgies for Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, and Good Friday were the graced means of our entering deeply into the mystery of Christ suffering, and that participation in his suffering made Easter Sunday a jubilant celebration of Christ's triumph over evil. The liturgy inspired us and drew us into the mystery of the Resurrection, through the scriptural accounts of Jesus' appearances, through the ancient prayers of the liturgy, and through the jubilant hymns of praise that express the miraculous transformation that God has worked throughout the centuries in the lives of those who have given their lives to Jesus. We were inspired on Easter also by the witness of one another, as we proclaimed through our presence at mass that God makes a profound difference in our lives. The liturgy used our senses as well--the musical instruments and the blending of voices, the beauty of the decorations and the fragrance of the flowers making tangibly present for us God's goodness and love. God spoke to us, finally, in the beautiful spring day he gave us as a sign of his care and faithfulness. This Easter was certainly a gift from God to our parish, but many more gifts await us over the fifty days of the Easter season, from today's celebration of Divine Mercy, through the unfolding Scriptural accounts of God's miraculous action in the early Christian community, up to the celebration of Pentecost and our prayer that God continues his miraculous work here and now, in our own parish community. He is Risen, He is truly Risen!"
