HAY THERE! SCARECROWFEST is one of the many events held during our October 15^th Harvestfest event. (There is also “Chilifest”, “Piefest”, and many other events during this day.)  SCARECROWFEST is an opportunity for our parishioners, local businesses, and Saint Joseph Regional Catholic School to come together and display their creativity. For local businesses, this is a fun and inexpensive opportunity to get your business “seen” by hundreds of people for only $12.00!  (We estimate over 800 will attend this event.) Every scarecrow will be displayed at the event for all to enjoy.

REGISTERING/HOW TO ENTER: All applicants must complete the online form below, and submit a $12.00 entry fee in advance thru this website only. This event is "Rain-or-Shine", and the entry fee is not refundable. Due to the popularity of this event and limited space, all Scarecrows must be registered through the website by 9-25-23 to qualify.  No late entries, please.

JUDGING: The top 3 scarecrows in each category (Business, School, Parishioner) will be judged. The winners will be recognized at the finale of Harvestfest at 4:00 p.m.  The winning scarecrows will be pinned with a ribbon for first-second-third place. Judging is based on creativity and effort.

RULES:

• All Scarecrows must be made in a family friendly design. No political statements or violent depictions will be permitted.
• Each scarecrow must be clearly labeled with a creator name or business name. This label must be prepared for all weather (wind AND rain) and must be laminated in plastic and firmly attached to the scarecrow post. (A stiff cardboard backing to the placard is recommended.)
• Scarecrow kits will be dropped off to you after you purchase them through the website.  
• The scarecrow must be able to stand and stay together with the stake in the ground, without additional posts, supports, wires, etc.  
• You may expand on the basic kit, of course... BUT:
  • The scarecrow must not be more than 5 ft. tall.
  • Keep your completed scarecrow within a "base footprint" of 18" x 18" width/depth (exclusive of arms), as we have limited space.
• Scarecrows must be dropped off promptly at 9:00am on 10/15/2023. (Event Location: MQP Church, 200 Lawrence Rd., Salem, NH) Sorry, no unregistered scarecrows can be entered in the event.
• You do not need to be present to win. How do you win? Be outstanding in your field!!
• After 4:00 p.m., please bring your scarecrow home. We do not want to have any "homeless" scarecrows!
