Plan to “get away” for a few days of Lenten prayer and reflection – without leaving the parish church!
Deacon Jay Cormier will lead a four-day parish retreat during the third week of Lent,
Monday through Thursday, March 9-12, 2015. The retreat program will take place at 7:15
a.m. at St. Joseph Church, and be repeated that evening at 7 p.m. at Mary Queen of Peace
Church.
The retreat is designed to provide what Jesus calls us to seek out: an ‘out-of-the-way’ place
for unplugging from the busyness of our lives in order to re-connect with God. Each retreat
session will begin with Mass, followed by the day’s retreat reflection by Deacon Jay. The
retreat will include ideas and resources for personal reflection and prayer on each of the
themes for the four days.
Markers along the way is the theme of the retreat: Each retreat day will focus on a simple
“marker” or indicator of God’s presence that we all encounter in our everyday lives as
spouses, parents, siblings, family members and friends. Recognizing and seeing these
markers in new ways enable us to bring the hope and optimism of Easter into our homes
and schools and workplaces.
