Beginning in the spring Sts. Mary and Joseph Parish will start a community garden. We anticipate having a plot 25ft x 25ft for our first year on the garage side of the building on the Mary Queen of Peace campus. The garden would be cared for by Fr. Bill and parish volunteers and the produce would be given to local food pantries and Cor Unum. Suggested crops for consideration include peas, beans, zucchini, summer squash, beets, potatoes, broccoli, kale and tomatoes. We are looking for donations of soaker hoses, manure, newspaper and the like to prevent weed growth, etc. If you are interested in this ministry please attend our next meeting on Thursday, October 20th at 7pm at MQP campus.
