Our beloved friend Anna died on Wednesday. She will be greatly missed but we are comforted in knowing that she is resting peacefully in the arms of our Father. Her wake will be Sunday, December 18 from 2:00-6:00pm at Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home in Salem and her funeral mass will be Monday, December 19 at 10:30am at St. Joseph Church. December 23, 2016 at 11:40 amAfter talking to Father Al about spiritual matters, he suggested that I might be interested in a Bible Study Group led by Anna. The last book of the Bible they studied lasted for four years and they would be starting a new book (Matthew) that Saturday at 8AM. I took a chance and attended the class. The group that she led with insight, love and charisma marked a turning point in my life. She encouraged group growth through erudite discussions and study of authoritative books while speaking with humility and loving care on all spiritual matters. After each session, in the closing prayer, she thanked the Holy Spirit for leading the group in the “best bible study ever!” And it was! Her legacy is and will be the continuing Love shared by her with all who were lucky enough to be able to meet and be inspired by her. She was a living example of what a saintly person should become.
