Salemhaven Volunteers assist with Salemhaven masses and communion services, which held weekly for residents and for clients of Silverthorne Adult Day Care. Family and friends often participate in the services as well. The services are a blessing for the residents, since many cannot attend regular church services due to their health. Volunteers transport residents to and from the service, set up chairs and liturgical items, serve as lectors and ministers of communion, and even provide music. Outside of service times, volunteers entertain residents with crafts, card games, and with musical performances. Anyone wanting to aid and comfort our elderly is warmly invited to volunteer.
